High Society Cafe

When I think of the High Society Cafe, I would think that the service and sweets would be of standard and quality. Well I was wrong.

I ordered a passion fruit and orange meringue tart and, chocolate and lemon macaron.

The macarons were disappointing. I had expected the lemon macaron to have some degree of tartness to it. But there wasn't. I felt like I had eaten lemon cream macaron instead. The chocolate macaron was substandard.

I have developed a love for citrus tarts lately and would always jump at the chance at buying any kind of citrus sweets. So I was hugely disappointed with the tart. For a meringue tart, you would expect meringue with smooth consistency. One that melts in your mouth. The meringue was sandy and it was clear that fine sugar was used instead of icing sugar and that the meringue was not well-mixed or that the sugar to egg white ratio was more than needed. It was a waste as the filling bad that tart taste I was looking for.
